A GSER Mountain Adventure
Before we start our Christmas fun,And the GSER is just a memory,Here is a story about some brave folkWho tackled the mountain. This story needs to be told.
Up at the great GSER at Mt Hotham,High in the cold, fresh air,A special team gathered together,Ready to challenge the high-country trails. An adapted relay for four strong mates; We shall call them the Awesome Foursome. The boys – Mick, Dale, Owen, and Steve –Took turns to run, to climb up and push through the trail, to show the world that 'no' is not a word. Each one gave his very best,Adding step by step, stride by stride,Until their journey reached 56 kilometres –a mighty achievement indeed!Across the ridge, over rocks and sticks,Up steep climbs and along winding tracks,Through cold winds and swirling clouds, fog and rain, they ran on and on.No blisters for these chaps; The alpine flowers were pretty and sweet. The tiny snow-capped mountains were melting and cool. And suddenly, the finish was there. And waiting patiently at the finish linewas the crew and Yana, the black support dog, her tail wagging proudly,Ready for cuddles and cheers. The crowd roared; the Awesome Foursome were there, crossing the line together. How proud they were! What a day! What a team! What a memory to hold forever.Congratulations, Mick, Dale, Owen, and Steve; you are certainly all mountain legends.Well done, Awesome Foursome! #GSER2025Thanks for the pic ai
