Henry and the Christmas Tree
Henry looked up at the Christmas tree.There were lots of presents underneath… but not one had his name on it.Not even a little H.
Henry had written a very nice letter to Santa.He had posted it early, just to be sure.So why wasn’t there a present for him under the tree?
Henry asked the cat.The cat said, “Have you been good?”
Henry asked the dog.The dog said, “Have you been nice?”
Henry asked the wise old owl.The owl blinked slowly and said,“Henry, don’t you know?Santa doesn’t deliver presents until Christmas Eve—and only when you’re fast asleep and everything is quiet.Hang up your Santa sack and wait and see what happens.”
Henry thought about this.He hung up his Santa sackand decided that waiting was going to take a very long time.But he had been a good boy,so he would leave it there until the day finally came.
But what did Henry wish for?
Well… we will just have to wait and see.
