Chapter 10

Part 2 Love always Henry ♥️

A collection of stories
Old Poss was not a possum at all; he was a squirrel. Squirrels don’t usually live in Bunyip, but don’t tell Old Poss that—he liked his name and enjoyed living in Bunyip with his mate Sir Joseph Launcelot. They lived in a quaint, two-room cottage on Pearson Street. Sir Joseph would walk up the street each day to fetch a bottle of milk and some bananas. Old Poss loved bananas and would sit next to Sir Joseph’s armchair, waiting for him to hand over a piece. Sir Joseph kept a sugar bag, and at night, Old Poss would tuck himself inside, dreaming of meeting another squirrel. Sir Joseph would sit in his armchair by the open fire. Each day, he’d walk past the butcher shop, where the three butchers would call out, “Good morning, Sir Joseph." He’d wave and keep walking—except when he stopped to buy some sausages. Old Poss was always happy when Sir Joe returned home because he knew it was time for a cup of milk and a banana.
