Coco visits Bunyip Coco was a well-known cat. She had been to the Logies; she appeared in magazines, and everyone knew her. She was quite famous, really, but nobody would say that to Coco. If you did, she would give you that look! One day, her man-saver, Sam, was invited to visit Bunyip. Sam was a very busy bloke; he was a weatherman and needed to keep the country informed whether they would have rain or sunshine. He couldn’t find the time to visit Bunyip, but Coco had heard about this interesting town. She decided to go on an adventure of her own. Coco put some food in her backpack and hopped on a plane. Then she caught the train to Bunyip. Well, that was so easy to do. Coco had heard that Nell, the mother cat, was living at the Grain store, nice and close to the station. So, she visited there first. Nell was at home. Coco found Nell to be quite a lovely cat. They had a good chat. Nell told Coco that Henry had planned games and a picnic. They were all going to meet in the park later that morning. After a quick rest, off they went. Coco first met Mittens. She was okay. Coco thought that Mitten's red bow was a bit silly, but as she was a visitor, she didn’t say anything. Coco then met Henry; she noticed his beautiful blue eyes, and he seemed very cool.Henry packed a great picnic basket full of fish, cheese, and fresh bakery bread. Coco liked the fish but stayed away from the cheese. No cheese breath for her……They played hide-and-seek. Annie had a big blue ball; they chased the ball and threw the Frisbee. What fun they had. Coco was having a good day, but suddenly the day was over. It was time to go home. A funny thing was that Sam didn’t even know that she had left. Long after, when Coco was home, she sat in her basket. She was thinking about her new Bunyip friends. She couldn’t quite believe Bunyip was a town and that Henry the Bunyip was a nice, friendly chap, Perhaps it was only a dream. Whatever it was, it was great fun.
