Four friends lived in an old cottage at Willow Farm.
There was MJ, the best trail runner anyone had ever seen. He loved to run along winding trails that twisted through the bush and mountains.
There was BV, the clever Bee, who loved flowers. BV was always thinking of new ideas. There was Ollie, a penguin, who wore a monocle on his right eye. He loved playing video games and could ride a surfboard. And then there was Maggie, who dreamed of traveling to faraway lands. Maggie kept a secret: three wishes she had once received from Kooka Owl.
One afternoon, MJ was sprinting along the hilltops when he spotted something strange fluttering through the air.“A map!” he said, skidding to a stop. He snatched it before the wind could carry it away and rushed back to his friends. “It’s not just any map,” said BV, putting on her glasses and reading the tiny letters. “It’s a treasure map! It leads to the Heart of Willow Island!” “Willow Island?” said Ollie, adjusting his monocle. “The Wavy Waters surround that! We’ll need a surfboard!” “That sounds like an adventure!” Maggie said excitedly, patting the pouch of wishes. “Maybe… I’ll need these.” The friends packed sticky buns and a thermos of tea and set off.
MJ led the way on the trail, clearing branches and warning of steep drops. BV flew through the air, finding clues hidden on petals and rocks. Ollie balanced his surfboard under his wing, solving tricky puzzles as he went along. Maggie felt confident they were on the right path. At the edge of Willow Island, they met their first challenge: a deep, wide canyon. “We’ll never jump across!” said BV, worried. “I can build a zipline!” MJ said proudly. Working together, they tied vines from tree to tree, and one by one, they zipped across, laughing. Soon they came upon Rex the fox guarding the path. “If you wish to pass,” he grinned, “you must answer my riddle: ‘What is lighter than air but can carry the world?’ Ollie frowned, BV buzzed thoughtfully, and MJ scratched his head. But Maggie smiled. “A dream,” she said. The fox bowed and let them pass. Finally, they reached the shore. The waters crashed and splashed, wild and roaring. “We’ll never get across!” said BV. “Hold on!” cried Ollie. He tossed his surfboard onto the water and, with a mighty flap, zoomed across the waves. One by one, the others climbed aboard, holding tight as Ollie surfed like a superstar. At the heart of Willow Island, the final challenge appeared: a huge stone gate, locked tight. Maggie felt her pouch of wishes tug at her. “Should I use one now?” she whispered. MJ, BV, and Ollie stood close. “We can do this,” said MJ. “Together,” said BV. “Just one more puzzle,” said Ollie. So they worked as a team—MJ spotted the secret symbols, BV connected the patterns, Ollie read the code, and Maggie pushed the final stone into place. The gate swung open with a huge groan. Inside, a warm, golden light surrounded them. A voice from the air said, “Because you trusted each other, you have earned not just one wish, but four. One for each of you.” The friends sat on a log, enjoyed their cup of tea and sticky buns, and thought about the wishes. Then they said them out loud. MJ wished for shoes that could run across the stars. BV wished for a singing flower garden. Ollie wished for a video game where you could surf on the rings of Saturn. And Maggie? Well, Maggie tucked her new wish into her pouch. She would save it… for the next adventure. #lovealwayshenry
